Can anyone tell me some really good metal bands like Megadeth and Metallica? And what kind of music would you label Tool. Thanks!

Check out System of a Down, Pantera, Guns N Roses, GWAR, and Biohazard. Tool is in between alternative and metal.

Iron Maiden. Definitely Iron Maiden.

My favorite songs: Hallowed Be Thy Name, Run To The Hills, Infinite Dreams, Alexander The Great, Powerslave, Fear Of The Dark, The Trooper, Aces High, Rime Of The Ancient Mariner.

Also check out Judas Priest.

shadows fall is a decent metal band that is fairly new
killswitch engage doesn't have many solos but they are really really good

Iron Maiden is the obvious choice but I definitely like Dream Theater as well.

i'm not sure how comparable they are (and there's a few i've only heard one or two songs) but some of them are amazing european bands.

Arch Enemy
Napalm Death
Iced Earth
Children of Bodom
Opeth

While procrastinating, I listened to most of those bands you guys named over the internet. I loved Gwar, Pantera, Opeth, Iron Maiden. I was really suprised how much I liked Gwar so much as well as Iron Maiden. Can anyone tell me if the song Saddam by Gwar is how alot of what Gwar Sounds like? What about Whargoul? I loved both of them. Thanks guys

ps. i loved killswitch engage when i heard them at the end of resident evil apocolpyse.. there awesome. =)

Try listening to :

In Flames. I recommend "Resin" or "Zombie, Inc."
Extol "Undeceived" or "Inferno"
Rhapsody "Emerald Sword" or "The Last Winged Unicorn"
Fear Factory "Damaged" or "Resurrection"

I know I'm about a week late, but I would recommend the following:

Opeth
Children of the Bodom
Soilwork
In Flames
Dark Tranquillity
Borknagar
Vintersorg
Cryptopsy
Nile
Iced Earth
Blind Guardian

Opeth are a very good goth metal band. Katatonia and Mastodon are excellent too.

I would recommend
Iron Maiden (I like Transylvania the best, but fear of the dark, ghost of the navigator, aces high are also good)
Helloween(they're a german band; I like Helloween, Dr. Stein, Power, Future World, A Tale that wasn't right)
Ozzy Osbourne(I like Crazy Train, Suicide Solution, Mr. Crowley, Gets Me Through, I don't Want to Change the World)
Stratovarius(They're from Finland I think. I like Eagleheart, Father Time, Against the Wind, Black Diamond)

What kind of music genre would Marilyn Manson fall into?

Crap, I think.

Hey--I like his music, alright?

ALL THAT REMAINS.

You will not be dissapointed. I recommend their cd entitled 'This Darkened Heart'. 10 guitar solos in that cd.

meh, i'd say industrial rock.

Thank you.

no I think crap is more accurate...sorry I really don't like MArilyn MAnson :p

yes, he tries too hard and his lyrics are the blandest of the bland, but the beats are alright.

Just looking at the CDs I have sitting next to the computer:
