Metatarsal pads?

Does anyone here use an insert for ball of foot pain? I’m overwhelmed by the options online

Would love a recommendation.

It’s hard to pick one without knowing what it actually is. Lots of trial and error. Might want to go with a full shoe insert cushion first that you can get locally and see if that helps. But I would go to a local Podiatrist if still having pain. Want to rule out stress fractures and Neuroma (pinched nerve) if it doesn’t get better. Sometimes icing several times a day and some anti-inflammatory can do the trick

Thank you!

If the issue is mortons neuroma, you need to pad just behind the ball of the foot, so that as you step, the bones of the ball are spread, rather than compressed. Other options are steroid injection and the definitive fix is removal of the nerve, but the recovery can be long and hard. Morton's neuroma - Wikipedia

If you want to try a cheap fix possibility. Check out Happy Step inserts on Amazon (yellow on the bottom). They are memory foam and made my new boots feel so much better. About $10. 1 Pair Happystep Comfort Memory
Hope it’s not anything too serious.

The very informative and helpful Section Hiker website recommend this one (it has worked so far): Emsold Ultra Thin Orthotic with Metatarsal Pad and Deep Heel Cup – Semi-Rigid Arch Support Insole for Men and Women – Relieves Pain from Plantar Fasciitis, Morton’s Neuroma and Metatarsalgia https://a.co/d/71uPwRm
