Hi! I will be a freshman in the dorm in the fall.

What is the best way or method or hanging items on dorm walls?

I have heard of hercules hooks for hanging heavier items.

Does anyone have any experience with this product or suggestions?

Thanks!

Those 3M plastic hooks, with the sticky stuff that comes completely off are good for heavier items, but wouldn't hold much more than a couple pounds. (good for purses, towels, maybe a jacket)

For posters, you can buy tacky stuff called removable poster puddy. It can be reused, and also comes off clean, unless it's really warm and then a little of the color may seep into the wall, but you can clean it off.

I've used both when I was in a dorm freshman year, and had no problems with stuff falling down or it wrecking walls!

that putty stuff comes in white, so no problem there.
with the 3M hooks, BE CAREFUL when peeling them off. i hung one in slightly the wrong place, went to remove it, did it... badly... and there goes a piece of wall.
luckily i now have furniture covering the evidence :)

haha liyana.. won't rezlife/housing have a problem w that when u do ur moving out inspection? ;-)

but yeah... many schools will let you make small holes for screws (like here it's "anything under 1 inch" -- although they only tell RAs the actual policy b/c a one inch hole is pretty big! they just tell residents that "holes for screws are okay")
