hello, i just wanted to know where can i take a bus ( location and what bus )to the closest metrolink station where i can go straight to the fullerton station.

i think it's amtrak
Amtrak - Detail Area Map

oh ok sry amtrak :D

i think you can take the 24x bus and get out at La Patera and walk about 0.3 mile to the amtrak station (Goleta). I'll make sure if that's right once i get my sticker so i can try going with the bus to the station today or tomorrow. i don't know about fullerton though... I have to be in SF next week T^T.

how bout going back from goleta ? do i take the 24x bus as well ??

well, if I remember correctly, from Goleta it is 12x, and then the bus will become 24x as it approches the campus lol

lol .. ok thanks a lot for helping :) i think imma try it this weekend

ok, i went today, just got back. u have to wait at the bus stop "B" at the north hall. get on the bus that's headed to the Marketplace (there's another 24x that's headed to the downtown).

i didn't know when to get off the bus, so when i realized, it was too late. i'd already passed the amtrak station xD (although i had the 24x and 12x maps and lists of bus stops in my hands). so i got off and took another 12x bus back and found that La Patera is near the Hollister Center.

So, after u get on the bus from campus, the bus driver will tell you when the bus changes from 24x to 12x. I'm still not sure where exactly the bus stop is, but if you see the school bus parking lot (to your left), that means you're almost there. u probably wanna pull the cord then. lol. i'll try it again probably on friday or this weekend.

maps & schedules in case u don't have them yet:
24x
12x

wooh sounds complicated mhm bus stop B at the north hall. i guess i passed it today lol .. as far as the bus stop goes how long did it take to go La Patera from campus ?

thanks for the maps & schedules.

LoL. it should take about 20 minutes. but the bus was behind schedule today and it took like 30 mins because of the traffic.

There are two Amtrak stations easily accessible from UCSB: Goleta and Santa Barbara. By distance, Goleta is closer to campus, though it's in a fairly isolated area, so familiarity with the area may be an issue.

The Goleta station is located on La Patera Lane, off of Hollister. Like nicha89 posted, you can take the 24X going toward Camino Real Marketplace, at which point it will turn into 12X going down Hollister Ave. You can probably just ask the driver to let you know where to get off for the train station.

The Santa Barbara station is located in downtown SB. To get there, you need to take the 24X going downtown, get off at Transit Center (last stop) and walk toward the ocean, passing Paseo Nuevo, under the overpass to the other side.

i went to the goleta station to go to san fran on tuesday. and just got back to campus a while ago. i missed the amtrak bus this morning in san francisco so i had to take another one that didn't stop at goleta. and yea the SB station wasn't that far from campus. u can take the 24x bus to the transit center and there r shuttles that go to the station. i arrived at the SB station today and it was late so there were no shuttles going anymore and i had to take a taxi and it cost like $40-something >.< poor me
