Meyer supports Tebow for Heisman

<p>Although he doesn't have a vote and is a bit biased, Florida coach Urban Meyer said Sunday his sophomore quarterback deserves to win the Heisman Trophy. </p>

<p>Continue to 2nd paragraph Meyer has been reluctant to talk about Tim Tebow's chances of winning the annual award. After having an opportunity to look at NCAA statistics and time to watch other Heisman candidates play, Meyer told ESPN on Sunday that he was better prepared to make a statement.</p>

<p>"I feel good now about my statement that Tim Tebow should win the Heisman Trophy," Meyer said.</p>

<p>Entering Saturday's games, Tebow was the leading candidate in the Scripps Howard Heisman Poll, followed by Arkansas running back Darren McFadden and Missouri quarterback Chase Daniel.</p>

<p>The Heisman Trophy winner will be announced Saturday night on ESPN. </p>

<p>Hopefully, the voting members look at who played the best this year and not that he is a sophomore. If he wins, he will be the first.</p>
