I applied to my MFA right after undergrad and reached pretty high- MICA, RISD, Pratt, UT. I don't know what I was thinking... Anyway, rejected from all four of course. Understandably, as looking back my statement was awful. I would have rejected me too.
Its only taken me 2 years to want to attempt it again. This time I am applying to some more realistic schools. I'm thinking critically about how my work fits their program structure and style, something that honestly hadn't occurred to me the first time.
About me:
BA Visual Art, minor women's studies from Duke
3.1 gpa (ugh)
senior thesis show in graffiti/street art, but current direction is post-graffiti painting(combination of graffiti and more traditional techniques)

Schools I'm applying to (in order of preference):
USC
CalArts
Otis
University of Houston
CCA

Has anyone applied to these schools? Rejected/accepted? Know their acceptance rates or application numbers? I'd love to show my portfolio to someone who has applied for MFA with any experience, positive or negative.
