Hi everyone

I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the Jump Start Fellowship Program from the Mental Health America of Los Angeles? If so, can you share your experiences or offer some advice about applying to and completing the fellowship? Thanks!

Hi there, I just graduated from the Jump Start fellowship in December and highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in entering public mental health or social services. The core curriculum is based on the Recovery and Psychosocial Rehabilitation model. The courses/lectures are informative, up-to-date and teaches you practical skills such as documentation, harm reduction, decision making and more. Plus you have the opportunity to gain practical experience through an internship. You will be an asset to any agency or organization when you graduate. Let me know if you want more info. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply! I have a few more questions. Where did you intern and what did you do at your internship? It looks like each session takes about 30 applicants. Do you happen to know how many people tend to apply, and what sort of qualities do they look for in applicants?
