Hey guys,
Please join if you've been wait listed by Mount Holyoke college. And keep this thread updated with any news you have, anything you hear from the admissions committee, and whether you've decided to stay on the wait list or not, etc :)

Hey everyone! I am a current first year at MoHo and was waitlisted last year. So, yes, they do take people off of the list! If you have any questions about how the waitlist works, I’ll try to answer them!

Hello! I am currently wait-listed by Moho too.
@greengriffins
Can you brief me about how the wait-list procedure actually works? And how many people do they wait-list every year? What are the chances of being accepted with financial aid? Is there something I can do to boost my chances? I am an international!
Thank you!

I got wait-listed…What are we suppose to do now? I kind of updated them with some of my new profile, hoping that it would help… But should I wait to get off the list or apply elsewhere?

@HerHighness
You should definitely apply somewhere else because last time Moho granted acceptances only to 36 students out of 445 who had accepted spots on the waitlist.
I am being positive too but I dont think its advisable to rely only upon Holyoke for an acceptance!

@greengriffins Hey! I was wondering how long it took for you to get off the waitlist? I read in some places that people had to wait all the way till August in some cases? I mean, we have to make our final calls on what college we wanna attend by early May, so how would it work if MoHo gives us a spot after that final deadline?
Thanks in advance!

The process as I understand it is that all accepted students have till 5/1 to accept. Shortly after that the schools tally up how many are actually going to attend and compare that to how many students the school has room for. If they are short then they review those that committed to being waitlisted and offer those extra positions to a few of them. After a few more weeks there may still be room since not all of those that were offered another chance will actually accept so the process begins again.

I got off of the waitlist mid to end of May. I had put a deposit down for another college, and ended up losing it since I decided not to attend there. All I did was send a updated transcript as my grades had gone up a lot since the one I had sent in Jan. Mibsprincess is right about how the waitlist works.

Has anyone heard anything new from MHC? And any of you waiting or have u committed to other colleges?

Hey greengriffins! I am an international and i was wait listed in mhc last year. Since I did not hear from them, I came to usa but studied in a different university. I am still very committed to get into mhc and i am thinking of applying there again for the 2015 as a transfer. Do you know how can I strengthen my chances?
Would you mind to tell me how you got accepted one year later after you got wait listed?

I suppose y’all were wait listed from ED. I suggest you contact the school and formally request to remain on the wait list. Secondly, apply to other schools, as your chances are slim. To improve your chances, continue to remain engaged in high school, earn good grades, and send a short update along with your fist semester grades. Good Luck.

It’s not possible to remain on the wait list from the last years admission cycle. Assthagimire is a first year at a US university and as such has to apply as a transfer.
