Miami Frost EA decisions

Hi everyone. D applied EA to Frost and received a deferred notice today. I was just curious if others were accepted to the college EA without hav)ng yet competed the audition. If so, what were some of the students’ stats.

My S18 was accepted to Miami though letter says he still had to audition for Frost admit. Stats are 35 ACT, 3.9 UW GPA, NMSF. A couple other schools deferred him pending the music audition, probably bc they wanted input from music admissions.

@melodyminor what was your D ACT score/ G.PA UW if you don’t mind me asking? On the website it says that frost students find out on the same day as regular decision candidates in March. @vistajay what Major did the email say your S was admitted to? Or is it still waiting for frost?

3.82 UW but SATs were only 1280. Top 6% of class.

^ Sorry. Typo. The UW gpa is 3.92

My D has a 1380 SAT SCORE and was also deferred. She has her audition this Friday

I hear all but 4 Frost students were deferred until they audition. The 4 accepted were invited to Scholarship weekend

Thanks @JerseyParents Gives us some hope.

Those scores are pretty good. It sounds like exceptions were made for the Scholarship weekend-?

Yes @JerseyParents , that was from the audition trip report I posted in another thread. That was straight from the asst dean’s mouth after another parent asked him about deferral and he said not to worry as everyone who applied to Frost EA was deferred from Miami pending auditions, except for four applicants. I wish they would post Frost decisions soon, but I had the impression we will not find out until third week of March or so. I also wonder how much talent scholarship money Frost gives. I did see a post from a few years back from someone who got $23,000 in academic merit and then got enough from Frost to make it full tuition, so must have been over $20,000 from Frost. That would be nice!

Looks like academic merit is way down this year judging by the acceptance threads so I hope Frost can bridge that gap. Here’s hoping all our kids find their perfect fit at a price we can make work!

FYI @Vistajay, my D was offered 30K merit from Frost last year. However, she did not receive academic merit.

@coloraturadad , that’s a nice talent award!

Granted I mentioned it so you were aware of Frost award generosity. It was the highest talent award from all of her acceptances.
