I applied to Frost School of Music for Jazz Voice. Could anyone who has been through the audition process or knows of it give me some insight? Mostly I would like to know about sight reading. Did you have time to go over it? How hard was it? How many prepared pieces did you sing? Thank you!!

This is a general answer for voice sight reading, NOT specific to jazz, but it may help you somewhat: You are given a piece and no more than about 2 minutes to look at it. The pianist may play your tonic chord and then, you’re on your own to sing.
Please don’t obsess about it- they don’t expect perfection. You can practice on your own though, you know, so ask your voice teacher to help you.
Have a great audition!
