Miami of Ohio advice on Greek Life?

I’m not really interested in joining a sorority, but it seems to be a pretty big deal on campus. Just wondering if not being involved in Greek life would inhibit my experiences in any way?

My d will be a sophomore at Miami. She did not rush, but is very involved in other campus activities. Yes - greek life is big at Miami. But here are many who are not Greek and my d does not feel left out at all and has both Greek and non-Greek friends. The key is finding the organizations that are right for you and getting involved.

@gmb1224 - My son will be a sophomore in Mechanical Engineering. He has no interest in Greek life and loved his freshman year at Miami.

My D. did not plan on sorority either. However, later on, she realized that she wanted to expand her social horizon beyond intense crown of pre-meds. So, she joined and looking back it was one of her best experiences at Miami. She had a chance to “progress” her sorority up from “colony” to “chapter” working with national and later went to nationals at Miami Florida representing her sorority. Sorority was great fun, many nice social events, still in contact with her sisters. They had several events for parents and we still have very sweat memories of them. Overall, all of the D’s experiences at Miami were great, Miami was a perfect match for her.
