Miami OH EA 2017

Anyone in CA get their financial aid letter yet?

@geauxsanders Would you mind posting your D’s stats? It’s the first one I have heard for full tuition.

Hope this helps those that have not yet received their scholarship notice:

In state
4.3 W
3.65 UW
35 Composite ACT
Farmer School of Business
$14,000 per year for a total of $56,000

I’m pretty sure this is almost full tuition. The guy that said his son received 22,000 per year is definitely out of state as they don’t give more than full tuition in the first round of scholarships

Got accepted 12/22, received scholarship notice 12/29
In state
4.04 W
3.63 UW
7 AP Classes 12 H Classes
26 Composite 28 SS
$16,500 per year for a total of $66,000

Daughter received 14.5K/year in-state, 35 ACT, 36 Superscore, top 1%, 3.99 UW/4.6 W GPA, toughest possible schedule. We would not qualify for need based aid.

I am also confused as to why couple of in-state posters received more than full in-state tuition which isn’t shown as possible on Miami’s scholarship grid (http://miamioh.edu/admission/merit-grid/). Max for in-state is 60K (so 15K per year) - so it could be that they have already processed FAFSA and included the need-based grants in the scholarships amounts for in-state students.

Sure. @Beachmum1
35 ACT, 4.62 W GPA; 4.0 UW GPA, 14 AP classes, lots of extracurricular and leadership activities. Engineering major. Rec’d $33K/YR.

Just found I received 33.5K/Year!!! So excited!!! This is $1000 over the cost of tuition and fees, so I’m assuming it’ll be put toward room and board? In case anyone wants to know my stats-
OOS 35 ACT 108/100 W GPA 11 AP Classes Rank: 1/268 lots of ECS, volunteer, and leadership. Female physics major

hi everyone are these scholarship letters coming in separately from the admissions letter? also, how far after the admissions letter was sent was the scholarship letter sent? I am asking this because I received my acceptance letter a week after it was sent, so i am wondering how long i should be waiting?

$35,500/yr OOS. Pleasantly shocked.

Very happy to report that my D received merit letter today with a scholarship for $34K a year - she was beyond excited ! She had also earlier been accepted into the Honors Program (UHP) and Pre Med Scholars (UASP) earlier as well and this is one of her top choice schools so she is thrilled. We are very excited for her as well.

D received $15,500/yr. for total of 62K - letter was clear that this was all Merit based on scores, grades, ECs, etc. no need-based aid was included, if eligible that offer will come in the final package in March.
In-state, 30 ACT (only took once), 3.6 UW, Summer Scholar, Bridges, URM
AP/accel/honors courses, lots of leadership, State-level science honors, 4 year multiple sport Varsity athlete, etc.
STEM major

Just received mine. 35,500 dollars a year. In case anyone wants to know, my stats are 35 ACT, rank 2/271, 4.0 unweighted GPA and some leadership/ECs.

@OHToCollege- Admittedly, we were shocked and pleased at the amount of my sons scholarship. @ 22K per yr in- state he is well above what is stated on the website. This was purely scholarship monies, and financial aid would come in March. He is a strong student, with excellent test scores. He is an Entrepreneur- started his own business last year. Perhaps it was his extracurriculars. At any rate, we are extremely grateful.

Very happy-- received 35.5k/year OOS. ACT: 35, SAT: 1590, GPA 4.0 UW, lots of EC’s

does every OOS student that has received merit scholarships so far live near Ohio?? Im a little bit farther away so im not sure how long I should be waiting

Just received in CA. A little disappointed with Honors and 21K per year. Four year varsity athlete, published research, many leadership EC’s, 3.94U/4.45W and 33 ACT. Much higher ranked college gave better award. Hey, that’s why we apply broadly; right?

I’m from CA and received mine today @tomato17

@tenniswimvball be sure to look at the bottom line. Miami’s sticker price is easily $15- $20K lower than many private universities, so an award at a private u would have to be $15-20K higher to equal the same bottom line. Not saying this is the case in your situation of course, since we don’t know the details, but just to caution you to compare apples to apples.

Deleted.

Son received 16500 per year. We are happy. 3.9 UW/4.0 W GPA, 32 ACT. OOS - Colorado
