Miami U (Ohio) vs. Colorado Boulder

Which of these schools is better?

I may possibly be picking between these two if I am awarded a scholarship that runs through these two schools. I have a 2050 SAT, 30 ACT, and 3.5 GPA so am most likely qualified to get in to both. I am interested in studying finance most likely, and while I've read a lot about both schools I still don't know that much about them.

Any comments are appreciated!

I’d go with M of O. CU B school is subpar.

It’s hard to say that overall, either one is better.
They are both at the lower end of the US News top 100 National Universities, if that means anything to you. Boulder is likely to be stronger in some areas, Miami in others.

UC Boulder has a beautiful campus in a spectacular location, with a lively college town and world-class outdoor recreation nearby.

What do you mean by: “awarded a scholarship that runs through” these schools?

How much is the scholarship for?

Both of these schools are peer schools. Have you visited either one?

It has houses at those universities. Full scholarship.

If you are from NJ, obviously Miami is closer to home. Boulder…well it’s Boulder. I’d rather spend 4 years there than in Oxford any day :)

What do you mean by: "It has houses at those universities. "

What has houses? Are you talking about fraternity houses, or Hillel houses, or some other point-of-presence for a scholarship-granting organization?

(The information might be of interest to anyone seeking aid to attend out-of-state public universities.)

???

Please clarify. What do you mean about “houses”??? And how do these “houses” get you a “full scholarship”?? And what does this “full scholarship” cover? Tuition? Tuition, room and board??? What?

Are you an Evans Scholar?

Probably a good guess.

If you want to major in Business go with Miami hands down: They have a top 25 business school (Farmer)

These two schools are very different. I am not a big fan of Miami Ohio, as I have said many times on this forum, although others disagree heartily. Colorado is going to require some discipline and effort to focus on your academics, but you will find a wider variety of students there.
