Miami University Class of 2014 Acceptance Thread

Now that regular decisions have been released. Might as well put them all in one place.

DD is accepted. She is jubilant, her first choice.

My D is in she is estatic, she wore her Miami sweatshirt to school today and is telling everyone. We are OOS, Florida.

They sure know how to make it dramatic, don’t they?

My daughter is in, but it’s not her first choice.

Has she heard from her first choice RBC77?

Im in 10char

Yes, MD, her first choice is Depauw.

Son is in. OSU is front-runner for him but new Miami merit aid helps. Did anyone get packets? Curious when we’ll find out about total merit and need-based aid?

I got in yesterday! Not my first choice though, still waiting on other schools… still exciting though

I still have not gotten my packet ohiopublic, which I thought was kind of weird since I live an hour away and they mailed them friday. Oh well, im sure it will be in tom.

My daughter has not received the packet either yet. We live in the Cleveland area. Were they all actually sent out on Friday?

It said in that email everyone got that they would be mailing letters friday the 29

No packet here in Missouri today…must be taking the long route!

Congratulations to the newest members of Miami’s Class of 2014! We have received reports that the acceptance packet delivery has been delayed in certain areas. All packets were put in the mail on Friday morning, January 29, 2010. We are investigating the situation with the post office in Oxford, Ohio as well as the central post office in Cincinnati. We apologize for the delay. Students can check for their admission decision at www.muohio.edu/appcheck. If you do not remember your login information, please contact your Miami admission counselor (find your counselor at [Miami University: Undergraduate Admission: Ask a Counselor](http://www.muohio.edu/askacounselor)).

College or Bust…My son has been wearing Miami gear since his visit. A little concerned about financial comparison with IU, but the environment really suits him. He loved it. I hope he will be able to qualify for direct Farmer admit and possibly honors with some merit money. He’s right on the border of NM commended scholar, very tough courseload, grade accelerated kid, two year advanced math (BC calc as a Jr.) His GPA is only around a 3.7 weighted because of a couple of c’s in classes he decided were “political”, but boy, he’d be a great fit at Miami. Congrats to all of those attending.

Nothing here in Florida yet through Wednesday.

My D checked the website late Sunday night and saw the Congratulations! Welcome to the Class of 2014 etc. We live in Maryland and have yet to receive her acceptance letter. Very strange - we usually receive stuff from grandparents in Florida faster than this.

Got my packet today!

Idk if this is weird, but they have not mentioned anything about my major. Just on the app status website and it says my declared major.

Does the acceptance package include what your merit grant is or indicate when merit grant information will be provided?

nope, im pretty sure I read on the online application status, those will not be sent until march or something
