Miami University EA Class of 2022

There is a surprising variety of fun restaurants in the little downtown adjacent to campus. We loved Steinkeller.

@EDHDAD It has nothing to do with having symphonies or museums but more to do with other things to do other than just going to parties… Keep in mind that once you get past your first few years of college, the party scene might get a little old…Nice to have places to eat or movies and concerts to go to…

As far as your comment about not being accidentally left behind at a national tittle football game. That is true. Miami will probably never win a national football title, but they are pretty good in hockey… So you do have that chance.

Bottom line, not a lot going on in Oxford. It is a small town with very little to do culturally wise. Cincinnati is another matter… Miami is a great University with many reputable programs. Everyone should visit and get a feel for it. People seem to love it. They also offer excellent merit which makes it quite affordable for both in state and out of state students…Just not for everyone

@collegeisago Just be clear, my comments were just for fun. They were not meant to be seriously considered when evaluating Oxford.

They just came out

Has anyone heard back yet?

accepted 2/1/18 0:04

GPA: 3.37 UW
SAT/ACT: 1510/33
Major: Finance/Economics through the Farmer School

Did anyone with fairly high stats(3.8 - 3.9 GPA range and 31 - 32 ACT range) not receive any merit aid?

I thought my daughter would get at least 10K, but they didn’t mention anything about merit aid. I’m not sure if she got a letter in the mail or looked on the portal, but she said there was no mention of merit aid.

Maybe it was just really competitive this year.

@WalknOnEggShells that doesn’t sound right- we got a letter in the mail with merit, can’t remember how long after the acceptance but it wasn’t long. Good luck!

@WalknOnEggShells I would call and confirm. After both my sons received their acceptance letters (last yr & this year), about 10 days later they received a merit scholarship award letter in the mail. Standard letter, no packet. Nothing was indicated on portal. We are in-state. Stats - Son #1 (CS major)-3.95 W (?UW), 31 ACT, 32 Super, $7500/yr ; Son #2 (business major) 4.25W (?UW), 29 ACT, 30 super, $6000/yr

My D was accepted in Dec. and got her merit letter a few days (maybe even a week) after that. She had similar stats to the ones you mentioned.

I haven’t heard from the school yet. Anyone here having the same problem? Not even a single mail.

@panicbsian When did you apply? If everything was in by 12/1 then a 2/1 decision deadline is indicated. If it was 12/2 or later, than a 3/15 decision deadline is indicated. If everything was received on time, you may want to contact them.

Accepted. 1490 sat. 33 act. Gpa. W - 4.17. Waiting on merit aid Major engineering and accepted into honors program

Applied around the first week of January. Got the decision midnight on feb 1

Same here…my daughter is getting discouraged…she has it narrowed down to 3 schools but hasn’t heard a word from Miami.

RD. Accepted. Got into UASP. This school seems to be the best for an undergraduate teaching degree. Any suggestions/feedback on the UASP program?

Unfortunately I cannot attend. Does anyone know how to decline admission to the school? I dont see it anywhere in the portal or acceptance letter.

I have the same issue as @syjabalx7377. Anyone know how to decline your acceptance??

@Pastpower, I just emailed admissions and stated that I couldnt attend. Im not sure if that was how to do it but I didn’t see any other options.
