I applied EA, that does not mean I am required to attend correct?

Does the email sent just say your decision is online?

@osubuckeye24 ED is binding, EA is not

Got mine this morning. Got in. No mention of merit aid.

Thank you so much!

Son who applied EA got notification right after midnight. Accepted to Sports Management program. His stats: 4.2 weighted GPA. 31 ACT Lots of leadership including class president and varsity sports captain. Out of state applicant.

Son was accepted last night for a Mathmatics and was also selected into the University Academic Scholars Program. Merit will be in the physical letter based on my other Son from last year.

Was the UASP mentioned in another letter or as part of your admissions letter? I think my son got his a little later.

@montanascout I too got into USAP but no mention of UHP. Hopefully that isn’t a bad thing with no honors mention, but the USAP seems pretty cool and it looks it comes with a little additional merit scholarship.

Son was accepted last night. OOS, accepted to FSB. Whats better - honors or USAP? Whats the real difference?

@TheBurbs & @mikeg2929 - I think the difference is based on if you applied directly into a major. On the Miami Honors page is the following:

Are you eager to concentrate on a specific area of academic or professional interest? The University Academic Scholars Program (UASP) gives the best and brightest students in select areas the opportunity to engage more deeply in a specific field

Do you want to start with the broad view? Look at the big picture before you focus on a specific area of study? Then look at the University Honors Program (UHP). It’s crafted especially for our most motivated, intellectually curious students in all majors.

So I think that since my son applied Math, he was invited to the UASP.

UHP and UASP are completely separate. One could get accepted to UASP, UHP or both.

Major differences, as I see them, are UASP gets $2000 scholarship (UHP $0). UHP gets scheduling priority (UASP does not).

My child received their acceptance last night and received acceptances to both Honors and Scholars. Is it possible to do both? Does this mean they are more likely to have scholarships near the top of the range?

I applied to Stats and was accepted to both, they’re separate I think

Son received email last night around 10 pm to check portal. Accepted to Farmers Scool of Business as an Econ major. OOS and applied EA. 3.6 UW GPA and 32 ACT. Good luck to all still waiting to hear.
