Hello.
My son applied to Miami University (Oxford, Ohio) as part of the EA program and the notification date is said to be February 1. Is there any way that we can know earlier as to whether he got in or not? Some say December 18th but some say December 20th and we are unsure as to which date is right.
Any help would be appreciated!

Nothing is official other than the Feb 1 date. All other dates come from past notifications so nobody can say for sure . Even I’m very excited about the EA decisions.
Son received email today with early action acceptance!

S accepted EA in computer science, school of engineering, yesterday via portal. No email. No letter. No mention of honors. No merit info yet, either. 3.9 W GPA, 32 ACT superscore. Range of extracurriculars. Based on past blogs, some have received merit info.shortly after acceptance.
My D got acceptance letter via email yesterday with an Honors Program Acceptance as well in addition to acceptance into Pre Med Scholars Program - what an amazing Christmas Gift, she is so happy !
My S got accepted EA in Computer Science with UHP and UASP offers. So excited and waiting for merit awards…3.7 UW GPA (4.15 W GPA), 34 ACT, Sports and Leadership Skills, OOS
My child also heard yesterday. Very excited. No mention of merit aid with the acceptance, but should be b/t half and full tuition based on the chart Miami U publishes on line. http://miamioh.edu/admission/merit-grid/
S got his letter today also! He was selected for the UHP and the UASP also, very happy. I guess now we wait for the merit letters. It’s great they publish the range online but that’s a big $$ difference between 1/2 and full tuition for oos!

@afr123 I’ve not heard anything. Submitted EA app 10/26. How about you? Status still says “Complete” under app submitted date
My son is freshman at Miami. Last year there was a group of notifications right before Christmas, and then another round of EA notifications on Feb 1.
Any word yet regarding merit scholarship?? My daughter has her acceptance but we are anxiously awaiting further notification…anyone know when it might be available? thanks!
youbub34 - do you have any info on when merit aid was released last year? Also is your son enjoying it so far?
@bulldog25 - My son is a sophomore, studying engineering at Miami, and loves it. Two years ago, merit awards came four days after EAs.
I may not be of much help, but many seniors at my school end up going to Miami University, and like it a lot! 
S received acceptance on 12/23 and received merit scholarship notice today (12/29). Portal does not show merit info yet. Letter states the final aid package will be sent in March. Also, they indicate that the merit scholarship will not be any less than the amount in the letter and may be given in a couple scholarships totaling the amount.
S got merit letter today. 24K towards OOS tuition.
Our son (OOS) also applied EA - still haven’t seen notice of whether he’s been admitted - wonder if there is any rhyme or reason to timing of notifications, i.e., should we assume it’s a “no” if we haven’t heard anything by now? TIA!
The next round of EA notifications will be Feb. 1. The December notices were just a small pool of early applicants with high stats. I don’t think any rejections will come until the entire EA pool is evaluated and notified.
