Hi! So I got into the farmers school of business at Miami and was very excited! However, I know it’s a very expensive school and am not sure how I got in considering my gpa is about a 3.2 and I have a 26 act. I have taken a few Ap classes, done volunteering, and have a job but I don’t rlly have a hook that made them accept me. I’m just curious if there is any chance I would get a schollarship? Also does anyone know when schollarships come out?
I got notified about my scholarship receipts along with my admission decision — in the same letter.
Miami is good about listing the criteria for merit based scholarships on their website. According to their scholarship grid, they require at least a 3.5 weighted GPA and an ACT of 27 before they will consider awarding you a scholarship. I stand to be corrected, but I’m not aware of anyone on CC who has gotten a merit scholarship with a GPA and ACT below the minimum required. Hopefully you can find sources of outside scholarships or receive financial aid. Best of luck to you!
Thanks! Does anyone have any clue if schollarships have already been announced or if they come when the acceptance letter comes in the mail?
I got my acceptance letter today and there was nothing about scholarships. I have above a 3.5 gpa and a 1460 sat. Where and when do scholarships and financial aid come out?
I would think you would 100% get a schollarship but my friend last year had above a 4.0 and high act and didn’t get any $ hopefully they are going to send them soon!
