Does anyone know how hard/easy it is to take JHU classes if you are a student at MICA? I know it is possible, but in "real life" does it work? Any MICA students know?

I think Patois is a student at MICA?

It's not super-easy but if you want to bad enough, they can make it work at no extra charge. You can't take a class at a different school (Loyola and JHU are the most popular) your freshman year because of foundation year, but everything after that is fair game.

The biggest challenge is fitting it into your schedule because we have 6 hour studio classes, and our liberal arts classes (your required at least 42 credits of LA to graduate) are usually 3 and a half hours long.. while JHU does a MTW/TH schedule where the classes are one hour each. (i think.. i'm pretty sure i'm remembering this how my JHU friends told me)

So it's actually "easier" for JHU kids to take MICA classes - if they take the nigh studio classes, which are from 4 to 10.

But like I said, if you want to bad enough, you can work it out. I'm going to try to fill my 3 credit math/science requirement at hopkins. (Yes, you read that correctly, MICA has a 3 credit math/science requirement)

In terms of getting there, the college town shuttle can handle that if you don't have a car or a bike, or don't want to take your car or bike. Via car/collegetown it's 7 minutes. the bike ride can be about 15. The nice thing about the college town is that it drops you off IN the hopkins campus by the library, and by MICA at either the Brown center (northbound to hopkins) or the commons (south bound from hopkins)

Hope that helped a little :)
