Not a bad start to the Big 10 season. Beating a top 10 Wisconsin team isn't something to sneeze at. I actually predicted a loss to the Badgers before rebounding and winning most of its games. I guess Michigan rebounded earlier than I expected. I still think Michigan will end this season anywhere between 7-5 and 9-3 (8-4 being the most likely outcome of this season), but this has got to be a major shot in the arm for this very young team.

Biggest comeback in the stadium history!!!

And in front of 110,000 fans no less!!! I wish I could haven been there. I was a student and at the game when we beat UVa back in 1995. We entered the 4th quarter down 0-17 before coming back to win the game 18-17. I was fortunate enough to be sitting in section 35, giving me a perfect view of Mercury Hayes' last second TD. As the old saying goes, it is good to be a Michigan Wolverine. I guess when RR said "Michigan football will be back" a couple of weeks ago, he meant that we'd be back immediately! LOL!

Haha, the first half was just plain horrible, they had like 5 turnovers. Anw, today's win is a really big one, celebrating the 500th game in the Big House!

It was like watching two entirely different games--the first, the one we feared; the second, the one we hoped for.

My spouse left at the half. Whoops.

Alexandre, I hate to admit it however you were right when you said Michigan would play much better, they definitely are playing much better than I thought still won't be 8-4 but wow was that a great win for them today. Congrats to the Michigan football team on an amazing comeback and a well deserved win

Thanks Ramen...very classy post. I personally agree that if Michigan continues to turn the ball over 5-6 times per game as it has the last two games, we could well find ourselves with a sub 7-5 season. Those turnovers have got to stop. I am sure RR will be zeroing in on the Defense giving up big plays (like it did in the last quarter vs Wisconsin) and on the Offense turning the ball over so much. I think Michigan will correct a lot of those miscues as the season progresses and the young team gets accustomed to their new coach. Next week's game vs a solid Illinois team should give us a good indication of how Michigan will do this season. If we can beat the Illini, I think an 8-4 season is possible and a 7-5 or better season very likely. However, a loss vs the Illini could put our record bowl streak in serious jeopardy.

good thing i didnt stop watching after first half

I left the game early..............btw they played better in the 2nd half because they passed the ball more. There were still a few scary moments from Threet though.

You realize we're a 2 point conversion and just an absolute ****ty game away from 4-0. Utah, we lost because we couldn't convert that 2 pointer. Against ND, we absolutely dominated them, but we turned the ball over on command. Of course, our wins haven't been that impressive either.

This game was awesome. It was nice to see the crowd actually alive. Half of my friends left the game, and I insisted that one of my friends stay (because I knew the comeback was coming). She was very happy she stayed. Man, we wanted to rush the field, but the people in front of us weren't having it. This was a BIG WIN. C'mon, you got to rush the field!

Sachmoney, I agre that we could easily have been 4-0. We could just have easily been 1-3. Either way, I never doubted the talent of the team or the coaches. The reason I expected a 3-3 start to the season (still do by the way), is because given the youth of the team and the drastic changes in the coaching staff, I expect a good deal of brain farts over the first half of the season. Things will look a lot better by the mid season, once we stop turning the ball over and our offense gives our defense some time off the field.

What an absolute fluke. Wisconsin's horrific road performance continues.

Michigan will go down this week to Illinois. Illinois is 6-0 ATS on the road the past 2 years.

Fluke eh? Michigan is the one with the bad luck. They turned the ball over 5 times in the first half. Michigan did not rely on trick or miracle plays and found itself leading 27-19 with less than 5 minutes left in the game. In terms of first downs and total yards, both teams were even. I really don't see how this was an "absolute fluke". Michigan definitely had some poor luck in the first half and some good luck in the second half, but on the whole, this was not a fluke.

And how about Utah? We lost to them by 2 points and they just defeated Oregon State, which defeated the #1 team in the nation last week. Utah is now 6-0 and will most likely be ranked among the top 10 come Sunday afternoon. for a first day coach and first time starters to keep that game within two against a top 10, veteran-ladden Utah team is pretty impresive.

And how about that claim you made about Notre Dame being the fourth best team in Indiana? Didn't Notre Dame beat Purdue rather easily last week? I guess you meant Notre Dame is the best team in Indiana.

As for Illinois, I agree that chances are, we are going to lose to them on saturday. Then again, I did predict a 3-3 start to the season, so we are on track. A win against Illinois, however, would definitely put a hole in your theory that Michigan would end the season with just 2 wins. Hell, a win against Illinois should put Michigan within realistic reach of an 7-5 or even an 8-4 season. Sounds familiar?

Yeah, Purdue is a lot worse this year than I thought. Let's just say I'm not upset at that prediction. Ball State is very good. Potential for 12-0 and a BCS bowl bid good. Better team than Michigan State. Notre Dame is average at best. They'd lose to Ball State.

I think IU will finish with 4-5 wins. We'll see what happens this weekend, if the team wins at Minny they've got a shot at a bowl, if not all hope is lost. I don't see more than 5 potential wins left on this schedule and that would put us at 7-5.

Michigan has an absolutely horrible offense. They've come back against Utah and Wisconsin due to those teams shooting themselves in the foot with turnovers. Don't get me wrong, I would LOVE to see Illinois lose, I hate those people, but there's not a game left on Michigan's schedule you can just pencil in a win for outside of the Toledo lay-up next week.

Michigan will have a 5-7 season at best. The glory days of Michigan Football are over. Recruits are no longer taking the school very seriously.

I hear you A2Wolves, and I wish I could disagree with you, but you are correct. The offense is horrible. I fully expected it too. With only 2 returning starters from last season and a completely knew coaching philosophy, I knew there would be issues at first. 11 turnovers in 2 games is truly unacceptable. Let us see how the season unfolds. I am cautiously optimistic! hehe!

I'm no football expert but I read somewhere that Rivals.com ranks Michigan's 2008 recruiting class #5 overall. And according to mgoblog, Michigan's 2009 and 2010 recruiting are looking good so far.

What specific source can you show us that indicates "recruits are no longer taking the school very seriousl"?

Now can I call it a fluke?

A2Wolves, you can call it what you like. Your mind had been set from the start. You have been saying Michigan is a joke for quite some time.

But as far as I am concerned, nothing that has happened so far this season has surprised me. I clearly stated we will start the season 3-3. I knew that we would lose to the likes of Utah, Notre Dame, Wisconsin or Illinois. I also knew we would be competitive in a couple of those four games and even come out of one with a W. So far, everything has gone as I had expected.

I think Michigan is making improvements and growing as expected. We lost to three quality teams, but the reasons for the losses are things that can be worked on and improved.

This said, I also believe Michigan will finish strong. How strong will depend on how rapidely this offense grows and how the defense responds to last night's meltdown.

As I have said several times before, let us wait and see how things unfold.

UM FB is in the same situation as that of IU BB - a state of transition.

Nevertheless, both are building top recruiting classes.

But this year, it seems like the Wolverines will finish (in conf.) in the middle of the pack.

A2Wolves should just worry about IU (the Hoosiers will likely be the Minny of last season).
