I was just wondering if anyone knows how many students applied to Michigan this year and how many were accepted? Thanks

There probably won’t be any official statistics released until they take people off of waitlists and such. It’s not even May 1st yet, so they don’t know all who’s gonna come.

Last year for the Class of 2012 it was 42% and the year before that was somewhere around 50%. I think that it has a good chance of dropping below 40% this year. I wouldn’t be terribly surprised if it actually dropped below 35%, even. But that’s only my two cents.

It’ll be a while before Michigan’s admission office has everything settled down so that they can release admission numbers.

On Michigan’s FAQ about the waitlist page, it says this year that had about 27,000 applicants for a class of 5,400. That means 20% of people who applied will end up enrolled. This has been one of the most competitive years EVER, if not the most.
