I went to my first game today against Notre Dame (I had other engagements during the other games), and it was so awesome!!!!! To me the basketball games are so much more fun than the football games. I'm from Indiana so of course basketball is my second religion, but at football games, everyone goes and it gets annoying when people leave early, don't pay attention, talk obnoxiously loudly on cell phones, etc, whereas at basketball games it's primarily only people that actually care about basketball. Both are amazing, and there is nothing like being at the big house; however, I thought the whole basketball experience was more fun.

College basketball is just so intense, it doesn't get any better.

You could hear people "talk obnoxiously loudly on cell phones" during a Michigan football game? wow, which stadium did you go to?

thanks for the sarcasm

Are you talking to me? Becuase I was being serious

I must respectfully disagree, Michigan footbal and Hockey are more exciting. The atmosphere is much more tradition-filled. Michigan basketball is fun, but Michigan Football and to a lesser extent, Michigan Hockey, are magical.

That game was awesome yesterday. I love a three big sports, and I definitely envision myself wearing one of those yellow shirts in the fan section if I go to UMich next year!

I was talking to goblue about the sarcasm, and college hopeful, your tickets won't be in the student section in basketball...usually only juniors and seniors get tickets there. Basketball owns every other sport.

except for running and triathlon :)

Hockey trumps them all in my opinion

I can't say I've been to a basketball game though... so for what thats worth

you have to go to one....you can still even buy season tickets/big ten package...the arena has alot of open seats...hockey blows

UM lucked out! They don't have to play Berkeley in the Rose Bowl. Instead they get... Texas?!?!??!?!?!

Yea I'm quite disappointed in the Rose turnout

Texas has a mobile QB which can't be good after what OSU and MSU did to us with their mobile QB's

I wanted the top publics to face off :(

To the original statement, how can you deny anything that happens in "The Big House"?

I agree with you Kazz. Althought I believe Cal is a better team than Texas, I think Michigan matches up better with Cal than with Texas primarily because Vincent Young is an option style, scrambling QB and we all know what OSU and MSU accomplished with their option QBs.

hey i’m coming to michigan in wintersemester 2011. i won’t get to watch any football unfortunately but keen to get into my ice hockey and basketball. what is it like to get tickets? can you buy beers at these games? and does everyone get into it like the football, i mean people party after and before?
