Michigan Business (Ross PA) vs. Northwestern Econ for IBanking and fun

So I've narrowed my list down to these two schools. I visited Michigan and liked it, but did not fall in love with campus. I am going out to Northwestern on Monday. So far I've come to understand that both will serve me very well for what I want to do after college, investment banking, however I am having trouble seeing myself as a perfect match for either place. At Michigan I know that I will be a much better fit socially, but I'm scared that the school lacks something intellectually (even though I am sure that ill fit in with the class of prefferred admits). At Northwestern I know that I will fit in intellectually but I am really worried that I won't enjoy myself as much as I would somewhere else.

so here is the question:

Am I giving up to much by choosing Michigan just because I think that I would have more fun??

please answer in terms of educational quality (peers included) and career prospects.

thanks!!!

bumppppppppppp

Why are you afraid that you may be lacking something intellectually at Michigan? The school will definitely prove intellectually challenging and stimulating. If you like NU's campus atmosphere better than Michigan's, go for NU. If you like Michigan's atmosphere's better than NU's, go for Michigan.

I’m a prospie in the same position as OP, considering Michigan instate and NU (which is about 17k/year more than UMich instate). At UMich I would probably go to Ross since I’m interested in doing Ibanking/consulting; at NU I would do Econ/Math. Is there an actual difference in job placement/recruiting between the two in this area that would make NU worth the extra 17k/year? Thanks (:
