Essays & Recs: descent

So again, thanks very much for helping this soul out!

yes, late december is a bit late to apply (not over the deadline late, but much later than would be to your best benefit). i’m guessing defer>waitlist, your SAT is very low for OOS students, your GPA and rank are strong but not stellar, and you are OOS. good luck though, write incredible essays and you might be in.

ps…hope your recs don’t lead on you on too great of a “descent” ;)

When would I be able to know whether they would offer me a seat or not?

It is because I’m planning to retake my SAT on January, and though it won’t be counted for regular decision, I’ll submit it anyway if I get deferred.

Hopefully it would increase my chances of getting in after deferred.

Get that SAT up and write good essays and i think you have a shot dude. It woulds been nice if you applied earlier, but theres no use even considering that now since its over. Just start really workin on essays and study for the SAT. If you have to take more time to get those essays top notch, do it.

The Mid 50% SAT range for admitted students is 1920-2180, so your SAT is on the lower side. You have good grades, but again, given your AP results and class rank, I’d say your grades are good but not stellar.
