Michigan financial aid: mpact

So im a low income student and was looking at umichigan's sample aid packages. With an income of 20000 or less, it says that Grants would cover 100 percent of housing and tuition.
My question is that is this really true and have lie income students been able to afford it? If been thinking I couldn't attend Michigan because it was too expensive, especially with my intentions of becoming a physician.

Would this mean that I would have to take out very little/no loans for undergraduate?

Thanks

I would recommend you check out the [financial aid calculator](http://www.finaid.umich.edu/MCalc.aspx) to get a more accurate result given your particular condition, but yes that is most likely the case. Michigan has always prided itself on being able to meet full financial need for all instate applicants.
