what can we expect for the remainder of the season? Will Michigan gon one to lose another 2-3 games or will we go on to have an amazing 12-1 or even 13-0 season? The way I see it, it starts with this weekend's game vs Wisconsin. Wisconsin always seems to play Michigan very tough. They have a decent defense, an experienced QB, a huge OL and a very powerful RB. Michigan is coming off a very emotional victory. Can Carr keep the team focused? I'd say this game is the key to how well we do this season. If we can somehow beat Wisconsin, the odds of being 11-0 when we meet OSU on the 18th of November are quite good. Of course, we would still have to play a very solid Minnesota team on the road, an always-tough MSU game in Ann Arbor (MSU always seems to rise to the next level when they play Michigan) and, a very respectable PSU team on the road and a good Iowa team in Ann Arbor. In short, we have a long way to go, but beating Wisconsin this weekend would be a huge step in the right direction.

we got this. this is our year. i can just feel it.

I think Minnesota's the key game. When I visited last year I went to the game and saw Michigan lose with like 3 seconds left on a 70-yard Lawrence Maroney run. I can't wait to get that ****in brown jug back.

the 70 yarder wasn't even Maroney ... it was their other rb

I really don't see how Wisconsin can be that big of a challenge. their passing offense was destroyed last week by a bad team and they were able to run the ball. but i cant see them running all that much against the number 1 run defense...i'd b more worried about drew stanton and msu being the big challenge

I didn't say Wisconsin was going to be the toughest of the next 5 games, I was merely saying that it is the start of a tough 5-week stretch. At Minnesota in a late night game, at #24 PSU, a team we have between 6 straight times, vs #14 Iowa, vs MSU and vs Wisconsin. All 5 of those games are potentially going to be tough.

well, john stucco is a very experienced and high quality qb. he doesn't have the weapons he had last year (calhoun, orr), but he has the ability to challenge the Michigan D. I say UM wins 27-13.

I sure hope Mich wins...I've been trash talking to all of my Wisc friends the past few weeks.

dvlfnfv5, it is unwise to talk trash before the game. Always wait until the game is safely tucked away before talking trash! LOL!!!

Stucco? lol. Stocco isn't a high quality QB. He manages the game. He won't beat you by himself. He needs others to make plays. Michigan has lost to Wisconsin in the Big House once in the last 41 years. Don't worry about this game.

He did have a great game against Auburn in January but he has not looked that good so far this year. He missed a couple weeks of training with a knee surgery and looks rusty to me. His ends are nowhere near what we had last year. D is a little better and running about the same but not as fast. I pick UM by at least 14. Now in 2007 we will have it all going. This year we will just look forward to bball and hockey.

Ends as in defensive ends, or tackles? Because Joe Thomas is still there, and he's one of the best in the country.

By "ends", Barrons means receivers...I think.

Okay, they did lose Orr and Williams, so that makes sense. And Owen Daniels (TE).

Yes receivers and I think all 3 made NFL teams this year. Now we have 7 guys who caught maybe three passes all last year. I'm older and we called them ends and that's that. Now it's X back and Z back and other things I can't or just don't want to remember. Same with basketball--I just don't know a 3 from a 5 but I know what a Center and a Power Forward are.
Thankfully as far as I know hockey has not changed much.

5--Center
4--Power Forward
3--Small Forward
2--Shooting Guard
1--Point Guard

That's fairly universal for hoops. Hey, only a few weeks to midnight madness, but in the meantime can UMich stay as tough as they looked against ND?

LOL, my football team did it "Split End" (your X) and "Flanker" (your Z). Yeah, hockey stays the same for the most part. LW, C, RW, LD, RD, G.

Big Ten basketball outlook

LOL @ quoting an article written by a fan on a message board. That's classic.

He is considered one of the better analysts for the Big 10 and has been doing it for some time. Most long time Big 10 fans look forward to his annual picks. You have not been around long enough to know much.

Our game with UM went exactly as I expected. Congrats on a very good team.
