Michigan Football

Arkansas is now officially no longer a threat to Michigan's hopes for a rematch now they have lost to LSU. Florida vs Florida State (GO FLORIDA!) and Notre Dame vs USC (GO IRISH) tommorow. If FSU and ND win...WE'LL BE GOIN TO GLENDALE, ARIZONA!

hopefully Arkansas can beat Florida because the FSU Seminoles have been sucking this year.

For Michigan to go through, Notre Dame needs to beat USC and Florida State needs to beat Florida.

Or like AzureK said, Arkansas needs to beat Florida for the SEC title.

Either way, Florida needs to lose in order for Michigan to go to the national championship game.

USC + Florida have to lose sometime for us to get back... so for once im rooting for the faggot brady quinn and the irish and im rooting for arkansas (did ne1 see the field during the arkansas lsu game? what was up with the field?)

woops...I meant GO Florida STATE in my previous post lol

USC needs to lose to Notre Dame.

Florida needs to lose to either FSU or Arkansas.

If the two above things happen, Michigan is guarnteed to replay OSU.

Though if USC loses, but Florida wins out, it's STILL possible UMich will replay vs OSU

I am not so sure Florida needs to lose. Beating an 11-1, top 5 Arkansas team would have been very impressive and would probably have given Florida the necessary ooomph to leap past Michigan. But beating a 2-loss Arkansas team that most likely isn't ranked in the top 10 isn't going to impress the pollsters. I say if Arkansas keeps it within 10, Florida stays ranked behind Michigan.

On the other hand, USC definitely needs to lose tonight, so let us hope Notre Dame can come up with some luck of the Irish.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....wow can the EXACT OPPOSITE of what we want occur....

Oh well...at least Michigan will dominate in the Rose Bowl

hope ucla wins next week

UCLA can definatly beat uSC... honestly they can

You guys still have a shot

The BSC is retarded, how can USC, who lost to some piece of **** team, play for the National Championship over Michigan, who only lost to the #1 team by 3 points?

Well when you think about it. They DID have a harder schedule then us...they just had a bad game :S

Oregon State is actually pretty good..... and corvallis is a tough place to place

They also had a lot of injuries going into that game and there's no question that Booty's developed as a quarterback over the season. If USC takes care of business against UCLA, I have no problem with them going to the championship game.

I am not so sure that USC's schedule is tougher than Michigan's.

Michigan's toughest opponent was OSU on the road. USC did not have nearly as tough a game this year. Their toughest opponent was Notre Dame at home.

Michigan's second toughest opponent was Notre Dame on the road and Michigan was slightly more impressive than USc in the way they disposed of the Irish. USC's second toughest game was at Arkansas. This was far and away their most impressive win. But let us remember that it was the season opener.

Michigan's third toughest game was vs Wisconsin, which is now 11-1 and ranked #6 in the nation. USC's third toughest opponent was Cal at home. Both Michigan and USC won with ease.

Michigan's fourth toughest game was at PSU. Southern Cal's fourth toughest game was Nebraska at home. Notice how most of Michigan's toughest opponents were on the road whereas most of USC's toughest opponents were at home? USC was slightly more impressive in that win.

I'd say the rest of their schedules were pretty even.

10 bowl games for USC vs 7 for U of M. And they played more ranked teams then UMich did.

But I guess if you compare the best programs vs the best it's probably fair to say the schedule difficulties are about even

zkevin, you cannot possibly argue that USC's schedule is tougher than Michigan's. They both played 4 teams that are currently ranked among the top 25 in the BCS poll, and the teams that Michigan played are, on average, ranked higher. I believe the 4 ranked teams that Michigan played are ranked, on average, 11. The 4 ranked teams that USC played are ranked, on average, 15. Like I said, there are slight differences, but to say that USC's schedule was definitely tougher than Michigan's is incorrect. Bottom line, Michigan's only loss was a 3 point loss at #1 OSU. USC's only loss was at unranked Oregon State. Michigan and USC had only one common opponent and Michigan beat by more points under tougher conditions. Bottom line, both are equally worthy, which explains why they are almost tied in the BCS polls. If UCLA plays well next week, Michigan could possibly regain/retain its #2 ranking.

how did michigan go from .926 to .922 when they haven't played this week?

Notre Dame lost, strength of schedule goes down.

And Michigan won at Notre Dame.

And Michigan lost to Ohio State while USC lost to Oregon State.

Remember that.
