Michigan GPA

What is the average GPA for LSA?
I heard it is below 3.0.

avg Michigan gpa for LSA is right around 3.7 ish...its definetly not below 3.0...

I think he meant the average GPA of LSA students while they are students at the University of Michigan. Hopeful, Michigan is known to be one of the harsher grading schools, but under 3.0 sounds a little low. I'd say 3.1 is about average these days, but I am not sure.

what is LSA?

ooops didnt realize OP was talking bout during school...my bad

anyway LSA stands for The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts (LSA)

I have seen data for other top midwestern schools.
The latest data as per gradeinflation.com :

Northwestern 3.38
Chicago 3.26

I now there are other variables but I found this info interesting.
If the average Northwestern student gets a 3.38 average, how hard is it it to get a 3.6- 3.7

it's right around a 3.0... and being just under is not out of the question. Michigan grading is harsh.

Not sure of LS&A's, but 3.0 sounds about right. College of Engineering is 2.85.

Why is Michigan's grading so harsh? Lower GPA than Chicago? Is that possible?

Ouch!. Is average Michigan GPA really that low?
