michigan honors program?

I just received my acceptance from U of M today!

I am interested in the Honors Program and was wondering if anyone knows how I should go about pursuing this interest or if they will simply contact me.

Yes I was wondering this too...

i think its by invitation only

it is by invitation only. but if u dont get in, u can work hard 1st semester then apply for it.

i got mine today (the 18th of jan) but my LSA acceptance was Dec 22, so give it a month, i'd say!

ranisparkle, what are your stats?

Contact the University.

My daughter was accepted to Michigan last year, at the high end of their stats but with no immediate invitation to the Honors Program. She e-mailed the University to let them know she was interested. As of about January, she still had not gotten an answer one way or the other. She contacted UMich again. At that point, they asked her to send in some additional materials -- latest grades, new honors, as well as a short essay explaining why she'd be a good candidate for the program. A few weeks later, she was accepted to the Honors Program. Unless a student has gotten an invitation to the Honors Program with the initial acceptance package, my strong advice is NOT to wait for Michigan to contact you. Contact them.

they invite you to apply

sheesh

wjb, they wont send it with your initial invitation, My friend and I both were accepted LSA then approx a month later into honors.

i have boringly usual stats: 1500+ 4.0w good ecs, great recs and essays

my bad guys, i apologize. i def got mixed up.

I e-mailed them directly about it. They said that they will make sure to consider me with the recognition that I am interested. I haven't even been accepted yet, so I don't plan on hearing anything for a while... but my stats were a 1470 SAT (780m 690v) top 5%... 9 AP classes.. lots of involvement and service... missions trips, math club, student gov etc.
