How odd that someone with foreveralone’s strong academic background wouldn’t understand the results of the report that he cites. As explained by the Spartan, that is not a study of MSU salaries. The authors happen to work at MSU, but the report is a summary of hiring information obtained from over 200 university employment offices around the country. Keep up if you can, foreveralone.
ok, but MSU is still worse than UMich. I gave a pretty fair assessment of them in my original post anyways. Those who work at a well established company as an industry leader and in a respected role from MSU are a minority.
You can split all the hairs you want, but these two Universities are on different levels
Obviously, you’re very salty and easily triggered
Yes, Michigan is definitely on a higher tier than MSU - but, once again, the OP is not interested in prestige-heavy industries like investment banking or management consulting.
There is nothing wrong with MSU. It is one of the top 50 universities in the nation in my book. And Broad is a well regarded business school. Considering his GPA and his overall satisfaction with his experience at MSU, I would recommend staying put. Why rock the boat? I am sure as a top student at Broad, he would also benefit from the best resources of the program. Had the OP expressed interest in working in exclusive industries such as management consulting or investment banking, I would have recommended the move. But that is not the case here.
TheSpartan, Ross places 10-15 students at MBB most years. Some years, that figure may drop to as low as 8, but that was not the case last year. In fact, last year was good on the MBB front. If memory serves, Ross placed over 20 BBAs into MBB. For an undergraduate program with 400-500 graduates, that’s pretty solid. LSA and CoE place many of their undergrads at MBB too.
Saying “MSU sucks, herp derp” is not a fair asessment, but ok. At the end of the day the OP is a top student at Broad, and likely has nothing to gain from transferring based on their goals.
