Michigan Music College...

I am debating primarily between Eastern and Western Michigan for either a General Music or Music Performance Major (Vocal or Guitar).

Does anyone have any input as to...

-Which is a better college for those particular majors?
-Which is better location wise? (I'd prefer a 'busier', more 'happening' area. Supposively Kalamazoo is more so, but Ypsilanti is also right near Ann Arbor, which is busier as well. Being a musician, I'm also very interested in what kind of local music each location has. Really ANY pros and cons about each location would be helpful, being that I know very little about either.)
-Which is a better college in general and why? (What offers more opportunities for this and that, etc. Really ANY distinguising pros and cons about one college verses the other.)
-Anything else that might sway my choice or that I should keep in mind?
-Any other advice at all?

Although I'm primarily debating between these two colleges, any other suggestions on colleges that offer music and are in a somewhat 'happening' community would be appreciated. I'll almost assuredly be staying in Michigan, though I'd be willing to look into somewhere else relitively close if there's something incredible to sway my decision. Take into account that I have only about a 3.10 GPA. I feel I could score relitively high on the ACT if necessary.

Thanks for your time.

Western seems to stand out more in my mind, but I don't know why... Personally you would learn music in general. It wouldn't be like the House of Rock, or whatever...

Yeah...

They both are icky areas.

Kalamzoo is Industrial and Yipsi is just run down and... blah... Ann Arbor is ok...
