Michigan or Vanderbilt?

My decision will most likely come down to financial aid (got 30K from Vandy, still waiting on Michigan's offer), but I'm REALLY having a tough time choosing between the two. I want to double-major in Political Science and Economics, and I'm from the Midwest, so I'm inclined to go to Michigan. However, I feel that the whole atmosphere that Vandy offers (size, location, weather, girls :-) is much more appealing. I'm also used to the whole "prep" scene that Vandy may offer (NE boarding school will do that to you!).

Therefore CC, where do you think I should go based on what I want to major in and your opinions on both schools? Also, I want to appeal for more aid from Vandy, and was wondering how to go about that process (I have full rides from Miami-OH, CWRU, and possibly Tufts). Any and all responses are appreciated!

Also, which school would position me for a top JDMBA program? My Mom wants me to go to Michigan, for she believes that the transition from Michigan Undergrad to Michigan Law School would be seamless if I do relatively well.

Your mom is probably right that you'd have an easier time getting into Michigan Law School from Michigan than you would from Vanderbilt, but that won't transfer over to other schools. Vanderbilt and Michigan will be fairly equal for Law-School opportunities
