Michigan State chances?

I reallyy wanna get into Michigan State.

I applied but I don't know if I'll get in.

I have a 3.824 GPA so far- this is my 1st semester of 12th grade GPA

I got As and Bs in 9th grade but straight A's in 10th, 11th, and so far 12th.

I took 2 AP classes in 11th grade. (AP Language and Comp. and AP Psych, I passed the AP Psych test with a 4)

I am currently taking AP Literature and Comp

I am in NHS (ever since 11th grade)

But I don't do any sports. Should I do more clubs?

My ACT score is a 24 but I'm retaking it.

The only big problem is I don't think I did very well on the Michigan State essay portion. I just wrote it in one sitting, not checking over it and I didn't feel very confident. I'm generally a good writer but I was rushing to get my application in which I probably shouldn't have done.

Can someone tell me that I most like will or will not get in?

I'm stressing big time!

I'm a hard working student but I screwed up a bit

If you’re a MI resident, I think you’re in good shape. My cousin got in a few years ago with a 22 and a 3.7 or something without any spectacular ECs or achievements, so they’re not always as strict as one would think. 3.8 helps a lot, and as long as your essays aren’t to the point where MSU thinks you’re illiterate, then you should be okay. I don’t know how much scholarship money you would get, though.

And as far as ECs go, not everyone does sports. I think as long as you have ECs that showcase similar qualities to sports (leadership, devotion, performing under pressure, interacting with others) then that is sufficient for a school to “get” what you’re like.

Good luck!

thank you so much!
