Michigan State Fall 2015 Transfer Students!

I’d say 7-10 weeks but if there are any problems with credits transferring and requirements and such it could take the whole 12 weeks.

Has anyone heard back???

Went under review mid January. Still haven’t heard anything. Their Twitter account says they have started releasing decisions.

Nothing for me yet and I submitted my application in November :frowning:

I wouldn’t stress it. I haven’t heard anything back either and I applied like the second day the app opened back in November. I’m sure most of us who applied early will be hearing something soon.

Yeah I applied the first day the app came out and haven’t heard anything so don’t sweat it. Good luck to all. I hope to see you all at MSU next semester.

I applied in January and I found out I was accepted on February 20th. I am sure you guys will find out soon! Good Luck!

Wow congrats! Thanks guys for the relief. I will keep everyone updated. I’m so nervous because this is my dream school and I don’t know what I would do if I found out I wasn’t accepted.

Congrats @jasmineal !

My portal just updated! Since I am taking the math requirement this semester they asked to get my current semester grades, and then will make a decision. The decision letter sounds promising, so hopefully in June I can be an official Spartan! Go Green!

Congrats to you @sparty1995 usually you just have to finish the class and get accepted (Which happened to my friend). Nothing updated on my portal yet, that’s why I’m very nervous.

Accepted as of today. I wish everyone the best of luck. No scholarship unfortunately, but very grateful that I’ve been accepted. Lol.

Congrats @yaboyfromthe616‌ still no update on mine, I’ll keep everyone updated.

My portal just updated saying my app has completed the preliminary review and now must be reviewed by Broad (I’m going for supply chain) although I have not completed 2 of the 5 required courses for Broad. So I’m a little confused exactly what this all means but hopefully it’s good!

@BigE2487 which courses have you not completed? Are you taking them right now? You have to have all of the pre-reqs completed by the end of this semester in order to gain direct admission to Broad for the fall. If you haven’t taken them yet you’ll have to take them in the fall and apply for admission to Broad for the spring semester.

I’m an SCM major as well so let me know if you have any questions about the program or Broad as a whole.

@TheSpartan‌ I will be transferring 52 credits and the only class I have not taken is the CSE 101 because there were no transfer equivalents. I have both Econ classes finished and am taking the last ACC class this semester. Will the CSE class be enough to stop me from getting into broad?

@BigE2487 yeah CSE is required to get into Broad. I got lucky last year since my school had an equivalent class, but CSE at MSU is supposed to be hard. I’m pretty sure you can take a few classes required to graduate from Broad without being admitted to Broad (STT 315, SCM 303, EC 340, maybe a few others) so even if you have to apply in the fall you won’t be behind necessarily if you can take those classes.

@TheSpartan‌ I was able to get ahold of a admissions counselor at Broad today and she said she would check into it, so hopefully I can figure it all out. I assumed I would take that class at MSU in the fall. I hope that if I get rejected from Broad it doesn’t hurt my chances to getting into MSU. Thanks for your help.

@BigE2487‌ If it’s gotten to the point where Broad is reviewing your application that means that you’ve gotten into MSU already, just not Broad. If you don’t get into Broad they’ll have you declare another major, (I think a lot of people do Food Industry Management because FIM majors are allowed to take SCM 303) and take the rest of the pre reqs in the fall and apply for spring admission to Broad.

Like I said, you’ll be fine for getting into MSU, but if CSE is holding you from getting into Broad then just get some of the requirements out of the way that fall semester along with CSE and you should be good to go for the spring.
