Still so anxious. Can someone explain to me why it seems everyone else got their answer from MSU and I still haven’t had mine? I applied in November and it still says “Your application to Michigan State University is currently being reviewed.” I gave them a call and they just told me the same thing that was said on my portal. Why hasn’t my answer came in yet? Thanks
@MSUSparty
If it makes you feel any better, I’m anxiously waiting for my acceptance as well. Civil Engineering major looking to transfer into the College of Engineering this fall.
@MSUSparty
I wouldn’t worry about it, I’m a Computer Science major trying to transfer into the CoE from a CC. My application still hasn’t updated.
I haven’t heard back either… I’m a hospitality major and I know it is very competitive, but I am just hoping to get accepted into MSU first before I worry about that. I’ll have my associates from CC after I graduate in May, but my GPA is a little low. I’m not sure how all of it will pan out, so we’ll see! But I am sure you’ll find out soon though! (:
@Martex @Zaphirex Wow that’s good to hear because I’m really a computer science major as well and I’m still trying to transfer into the CoE for this fall too. @volleyball12 I wish best of luck to you even if you said your gpa is a little low I hope you get in.
I realized last year that transfer applications are kind of a second priority for the admissions department since they want to fill the freshman class first.
Stay patient!
@MSUSparty My portal updated sometime last night and said that a preliminary review of my app has been completed and would now be checked against the CoE criteria. Now I get to have fun waiting for the CoE decision!
@Zaphirex Thanks for the update, I still didn’t get a response from them yet. It’s been sitting on “Your application to Michigan State University is currently being reviewed.” for so long. I called them too and they said I just have to wait. Congrats. You got in at least.
I have to take a CLEP math test to get in. If I pass I get in for fall.
Hi all, I applied to transfer in for my sophomore year, Last semester I finished with a a 3.75 GPA and made Dean’s List at Miami University (of Ohio), this semester I’m at Oakland University commuting from home, but it looks like I might finish with a GPA more around 3.2 this semester. My portal is asking for my current semester grades since I’m completing the math requirement. With classes and AP credit combined I should have about 24-30 credit hours, so I also sent my ACT (29 score) and my high school transcripts (3.8 GPA). I’m just concerned that my lowered GPA this semester will stop me from being admitted, what do you think?
@TheSpartan it seems you really know a lot about this process, so I would especially appreciate hearing from you.
I think you’ll be fine since you’ll still have over a 3.0, and people have bad semesters at times, especially since you switched schools in the middle of the year.
Hi. I’m going to be transferring to MSU as a sophomore. I sent in my app at the start of January, but I regrettably didn’t send in my transcripts until the end of January. My application went into the reviewing phase earlier in March, and while I’m confident that I’m getting in, I’m worried about getting housing late. I believe housing apps end on April 2nd. While there are apartments available, my parents are very against me living in an apartment. Does anyone know if the dorms would be available after the deadline?
Thanks!
@Stuurrgis
Once you submitted your application I’m assuming you self reported your grades through your Be a Spartan Portal. Don’t feel bad about sending your transcripts late as it’s not required anyway until AFTER you are accepted. Not sure on the deadline of dorms, but what’s wrong with apartments? MSU even has a roommate matching site you could use right now.
UPDATE: I got accepted to MSU BUT, I have to wait for the college on engineering decision and after their decision then I am fully 100% accepted. Extremely nervous but I hope I get in
I also just want to ask @TheSpartan because you seem very experience on this topic, Ik you went into a different major, but how long will it take for the CoE to review my application? Thanks again
I just found out this morning that I was accepted into the CoE!!! @MSUSparty If it helps at all, it took around 2 weeks for my application to be reviewed by the CoE. Good Luck!
@MSUSparty mine took longer since Broad takes longer but usually 2-3 weeks for CoE I think, like Zaphirex said. Congrats on getting into MSU!
@TheSpartan Thank you so much, I just hope I get in CoE but I was talking with a couple of friends at State and they said usually if you get in preliminary stage, you most likely will get in the CoE. Is that true? Thanks again
@Zaphirex Congrats Zaphirex on getting into MSU. I just hope I can get in just like you my friend
Also @Zaphirex if you don’t mind, what was your GPA for you to get into the CoE? Thanks again.
