Hello, I was recently accepted by Michigan State for the Pre-Medical major. Although I do plan on attending there regardless of the feedback I receive here, I was just curious how it stacks up to similar programs in the state of Michigan. I didn’t apply to U of M but I did apply and get into Wayne State University, Oakland University and Eastern Michigan University, where I can take similar programs if I wish to.
In the same boat except im still waiting to hear back from other schools. So far I’ve heard it’s a good program, and that it’s a good place to do undergrad because it’s easier to get a higher GPA. Also since they have their own medical school, if you chose to stay for grad school it’s easier to get in
Same boat… but just got my final reward pack today. Needless to say, I will not be attending. 30 ACT, high GPA, still cost over 46k per year!! Horrible. I would never pay 185k for my four year degree from MSU. No way! Good luck to you.
@tanner1234 You must be OOS. My D got in to Lyman Briggs with an intended pre-med major. She didn’t apply to Oakland or Eastern primarily due to rankings and graduation rates. She is considering Wayne State for med school so didn’t want to go there for undergrad, also I didn’t like the residence hall options there. I have several friends who are physicians and they have all said that MSU is a good school and that she would do well there. Right now MSU is number 2 for my D, so she is still in the decision process.
