Hi, I’m really interested in the honors college at MSU. I applied late October and was accepted to MSU in early November, I I was wondering if anyone knew if the honors college invitations for the 2017 school year had been sent out yet. Thank you!
@xxCaraBearaxx The Honors College sends out invitations after acceptance. The website indicates it could be up to 8 weeks after you receive your university acceptance. Good luck! Hard to keep waiting, but we’re pulling for you!
D was accepted.
As 123field says, it can take anywhere from 4-8 weeks after you receive your acceptance. One of my friends received his but I’m still waiting.
If you’ve gotten into MSU Honors College could you please reply to this post with your stats? My S has met criteria listed, 3.9/4.0, IB curriculum, 32 ACT, multiple Leadership positions, 200 service hours and acceptance to MSU in September. Haven’t heard a thing…
You should hear soon.
My son has super high stats but had to send email to MSU Honors College in Nov bc he hadn’t heard anything. They then sent him an invite. Not sure why the disconnect.
My daughter was accepted into the Honors College as an OOS with 3.76 UW /4.08 W and a 33 ACT. She was awarded the tuition grant, a professorial assistantship, $5000 study abroad scholarship, and invitation to compete in the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship competition. She received her acceptance about 4 weeks after her university admittance. Good luck to all still waiting!
If it has been longer than 12 weeks - I’d suggest contacting the Honors College and politely inquiring. It is a big university and perhaps things are a bit disorderly as Biotechgirl may have found in her son’s case.
@Biotechgirl What did your son say in his email? I’m assuming that he didn’t send the extra essay and current grades that the website says to send if you don’t receive an email by January 1
It’s been a little over 8 weeks since my acceptance but I still haven’t heard anything. My school doesn’t rank so I don’t know if I meet that requirement, but the only thing I don’t meet is the SAT (I’m only a few points under though, not a lot - and they say it’s an average score of 1450)
Accepted OOS with a 30 ACT, 4.0 UW/5.36 W GPA with multiple leadership positions and extracurriculars. I received an invite to the HC along with a study abroad scholarship, a $15,000 annual scholarship, and an ADS competition invite. I received my invite maybe 2 or 3 weeks after my acceptance??? They look at more than test scores, as my score was below their required average. So you may get in even with a lower test score.
