Ik for sure I was in like the first round of applicants to be notified of being invited to the Honors Program
same here. my son checked his portal and saw the same thing.
The 8 weeks went by and we never received an honors invite. Very disappointing, all the schools sheās been accepted to have extended an honors invitation except MSU.
@ab4924 An admissions officer told me yesterday that they had just mailed some invites on Monday.
I just got my honors college invite today. Does scholarship info come later (nothing in my portal) or did i just not get any?

Has anyone received an invitation to the Alumni Distinguished Scholarship competition yet? I had heard invites generally go out mid-December for this on campus competition in late January - early February. DD applied by 11/1 deadline, and was accepted to MSU but hasnāt received anything regarding Honors or this competition yet. Thinking she may not have been invited to compete.
Invites to Honors Program or Alumni Distinguished Scholarship?
My son got the $15,000 based on his stats. He hasnāt received any invite to Honors College yet.
I donāt believe many of the $13,000 Honors awards have been given yet. My understanding is that the $5,000 Honors awards will be increased for selected students as the process nears the ADS competition. In the past, some students who performed well in ADS earned the additional Honors $$$.
D21 was accepted into Honors earlier this month and received ADS invite by mail today.
Keeping an eye out for that invite. Is it in a regular envelope? We got the financial aid package today. With two alums in this house, we get a load of MSU mail. I had this panic that I tossed something out last week. Congrats on Honors!
Its in a smaller envelope, like the size of a thank-you note but cleverly packaged as a pull-out invitation.
Do we need to activate our Dās āMSU NetIDā to see financial aid offers, honors status, or competition invites? My understanding is that either comes via mail or communicated through the admissions portal, right?
I would ask admissions about that one. In our experience with MSU, each step along the way has been communicated vie email and then regular mail.
Check the portal! My son got the Honors College invitation in November. The letter only mentioned the $5000 Honors scholarship and Study Abroad. When my older son had applied the Non-Resident scholarship was in the same letter, so I assumed Son#2 didnāt get it. But after seeing the posts here, I checked the portal, and sure enough, the $15,000 Non-Resident scholarship was there. He got the invitation for the ADS competition today too.
i too got a ads mail
The Honors scholarship and the Study Abroad scholarship are different, correct? I believe her portal lists the Study Abroad one. Applied 10/30, received the admission package wrapped in a flag in late November, received the financial aid package in mail today, hopefully maybe ADS invite in the next couple days
Also, did the Honors College invite come via the snail mail AND email, or just snail mail? Thanks again!
I received my Honors College invitation a few weeks ago and was just wondering if anyone who has received it as well, has accepted/replied to it online. I havenāt replied yet, I believe that an answer has to be in by May 1. I am just wondering what happens when you do click the submission/reply.
Iām pretty sure you only receive the invite through the mail. I also received my ADS invite through mail only. The only thing that was emailed to me was to register for an Honors Exploration event for more information.
