Michigan State MD scholar

how hard is it to get in?
what do they look at?
any information will be helpful..

It is competitive. There are only 10 spots available (they get 200 applications a year). They really care about your application essays, so don't blow them off.

are u from michigan central perky

did anyone get an interview? i'm oos and got a letter saying i didn't get an interview today. =(

hm. i got one, but i'm instate.
anyway, what are interviews for this program like? really intense?
what are the questions geared towards-- activities or medical knowledge?

I got one of the 10 University Distinguished Scholarships and I still didn't get an interview for the Med Scholars Program. I read on the site that they only take 10 and normally 8 or more are from Michigan (I'm from IL), so yeah, it's tough...

Eeeeeee never mind I just got a call from the Honors College and I got an interview! I second starry's question...anyone have any insight as to what the interview is like? I know on the website it says you just need to know how to articulate your essay answers.

Did any one already have thier interview?
How was it? How was the ADS competion test?

im from illinois and have interview/ads next friday. yay? yeah mixed feelings right now.

Same here, I'm going next weekend, but I'm not taking the ADS test, so good luck to those who are.

had my interview and took the ADS test this past weekend...
the friday ADS activities were kind of tiring, but the medscholar stuff was great
undergrads and med students were there to answer questions
and people from the admin office helped everyone get to their interview location on campus. it was great
...as for the test, it was completely random, what do you expect? haha
good luck everyone!

Did any of the interview questions deviate from the application? I heard they didn't too much.

yeah, most questions were expanding on the application

...but just be ready for anything

What were your thoughts about the interview?

I thought mine was OK. I heard the final decisions are announced in the first week of March. Is that what you heard?

Same, I thought mine was decent, too. And the site says "mid-March."

the decision is supposed to come out today, Friday march 14th. the waiting is driving me crazy.

I am still waiting as well!!! I hope MSU hurries up and releases the decisions today. I can't take it any longer
