Michigan State to Liberal Arts College Advice

I am going to start my college education at Michigan State University this year. The problem is that, as I have learned more about the college process Michigan State isn't seeming as good of a school as it once was. I never thought that having a school with so many people would be a big problem, but that was because I never correlated a big school with multiple 300+ people classes. The level of academics isn't necessarily where I would like and it isn't as prestigious as some other schools.

My father always had pounded into my head that I had to go instate because of money and that I would have to take out a lot of loans if I went out of state. I never knew that you could get a lot of gift money from colleges and liberal arts colleges give money especially. So what do you think I should do. The three questions I have are:

1) What are the possibilities of transferring to a top liberal arts school from Michigan State University.

2)Should I even transfer, or just stay at Michigan State.

3)What type of things would I have to do such as: ex. g.p.a level, ex. currics, etc. To be a successful transfer to a top school.

Oh yeah, I'm pre-med.

GPA and Essays (reasons for transfer) will be the most important. Transfering to the top LACs are extremely difficult (I'm looking to transfer out of mine so maybe you can take my spot :)) since the smaller class sizes naturally yield less available spots. It depends which LAC's you have in mind as well.

Thanks, I might be considering Amherst, Swarthmore, Wellesly, Colgate, Grinnell, Smith, Colby, and Bryn Mawr. I generally don't want anything on the west side, it isn't my scene.

Some none liberal arts schools I would like to go to are Duke, Dartmouth, John Hopkins, Columbia, and Duke.

Could someone please give some general stats of what I would have to get at Michigan State in order to be a successful applicant to these schools, and could someone give some general advice on the transfer process.

buuuummmmmmmmmmppppppppp.........

Any more advice, please?

Could someone please respond with more advice.

You need a minimum GPA of 3.7 from Michigan State, at least a 1300/1600, and amazing essays to be competitive at any of the schools you listed.

Does anyone have any advice on the type of extracurriculars I should do.
