I'm an out of state student considering MSU. I am a plane ride away, which means I will only be able to go home during breaks. I hear that many kids go home on the weekend...is this true? Will I find that most of my friends are going home on the weekends? That is really my only concern with going to MSU. I'm a little worried that it's sort of a "suitcase" school because it's 90% MI kids.

A lot of them are from in state, but it’s not a commuter. They come from all over the state (which is huge) and may go home once a month or something, unless local. My brother goes there and says it’s active on the weekends.

No. Very few people go home on the weekends. Weekends are huge here.

It’s definitely NOT a suitcase school. Most people live well over an hour away from their homes and freshmen can’t have cars on campus.

Although I am an alumni from way back… No one I knew went home except for major holidays. There is so much going on that you don’t want to leave!!!

Best college decision I made was to attend MSU OOS!!! Great school, Great academics, Great lifelong friends! GO Green!!
