What are they like, if there are any? I mean similar to the ones NYU run. Campuses all over the world, where you can transfer for a semester. Is that possible in Michigan? Do they have any sort of option where you can complete some of your major in another country?

Michigan has a lot of options for study abroad. CGIS (Center for Global and International Study) takes care of most study abroad business. Their office is in Chem 1712.

I believe there are options to go for a semester and a year at various universities around the world. Some have language and GPA requirements but others do not. If you can’t go or a semester or year, there are summer opportunities as well!

The answer to the last question really depends on where you end up going, but you should attend one of CGIS’s Go Global! seminars (classes?). They usually have them M~F, but I’m not sure if they started meeting this semester. If you attend one of their Go Global! seminars, you’ll be able to sign up for meetings with an advisor and ask a lot of questions there.

Best of luck! :)

Here’s their website if you’re interested CGIS[/URL”>http://www.lsa.umich.edu/cgis/"]CGIS

I looked into the CGIS programs back in november and my experience with it is that its good for a limited number of students. A lot of semester/year programs are for junior/senior only (*** seriously?) and the foreign colleges that I wanted to study at are not there. But that is my experience.

If you cannot find any CGIS programs, do a non-U of M study abroad program. There is more paperwork involved and the only real disadvantage is that some credits may not transfer but if you want a lot of options, this is what I would recommend.
