Michigan to NYU

I am thinking of transferring from Michigan to NYU for Fall of 09.

I have a 4.0 in an EECS 182, SI 110, and SI 539 (graduate). I just got my grade for Math 105 (Pre-Calc) and it's a C+! I screwed up the final, big time!

I was hoping to go to Stern but that's clearly out of the question now that I have a C+.

Can I even get into NYU CAS at this point? God, I really screwed up.

My GPA would be a 3.546.

this is the link to what the cas requirments are: NYU > Undergraduate Admissions > Applying for Admission > Transfer Applicants > Special Program Requirements

the say the average gpa is around 3.7 which is an A-. cas, stern and tisch are the most competitive schools at nyu.

i would say you have a chance though, there is always a chance! i would say apply to either stern or cas write a kick ass essay and in the additional comments section explain why you got the C+.

nyu takes into account a lot of factors, so i say apply!

Will NYU take into account my second-semester grades as well or do those come too late?

i think second semester grades come too late. i know for fall they start notifying in early to mid-May but can go into june.

they might ask you for midterm grades but i'm not completely sure of how that goes.

i say don't stress about it! apply and see what happens, there is always hope! just keep thinking positive and apply to some back up schools.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

well, if you are a freshman, your hs grades will be the biggest factor in your admissions...if you wanted to post them...ec's and recs are not to be overlooked either
