Michigan transfer applicants - please help!

I called them and they said for me, the decision was made last wednesday, sent out on friday, should get it sometime this week - it kills me to know that when they said that they could also see "rejected" or "accepted" next to my name, but they can't say it. as someone said before, "emotional terrorists!"
I'm at the stage where I just want to know if I got in or not. for those of you who got in, did it come in a nice thick package? usps? fedex?

It came in a normal letter-sized envelope...with a "Congratulations!" spiel, the transfer "conditions," and a catalog.

I got it in an 8"x11" ish package with MICHIGAN across the front. Regardless, why can't you check your decision online?

because I got rejected :...(
and rejectees get a "a decision will be arriving in the mail" on WA while accepted ppl get a nice "congratulations!" - they're not gonna put a big "rejected!" on WA. the guy who called em emotional terrorists is so right.

congrats guys!

I think it depends on the school. I applied to Engineering and they looked at my app a month ago and e-mailed me saying that they'll need to see my final grades. So now I have to wait until May, and it looks like my chances are pretty dubious... nice.

i guess engineering transfer admissions does it differently. i applied LAS.
good luck dames!

dames,

Would you mind sharing some of your stats? I'm an in state senior in high school looking to transfer into Michigan engineering as a sophomore. Info on how to engineering school makes its decisions has evaded me. I was wondering if a solid portfolio displaying some engineering related projects would be used in the admissions process (programming/C++ related). Anything from tips to anecdotes would be a great help.

My stats:
2.1 GPA
30 ACT
Sports/job for ec's... you get the idea.

Hey dames, what major did you apply for? I am for electrical engineering and they asked me for a bunch of stuff (course syllabus) and I have yet to hear a decision, and they didn't ask me for my final grades... What about you?

bump. Sorry for the thread hijack.

I need to decide soon whether or not I need to take classes during the summer. Bump.

Who's going to UMich next year? I know I need to let them know by May 1st, but UC Berkeley doesn't post their decisions until May 1st evening...and that's my other #1 choice. I called them for an extension, but I was denied :(

Try getting an extension from UMich

I called to ask for an extension, but the stupid lady @ the admissions office was like, "Well, the national deadline is May 1st, so I don't think so." I'm like double-yoo tee eff, right. What "national" deadline?!? So I told her that many schools don't post their decisions until much later than that. She gave me so much attitude after that. Then she put me on the longest hold ever, only to return and tell me that I still can't be given an extension. She did say I can e-mail their admissions counselor and appeal. Blah. That's so much work...

EEguy: I'm applying for biomed E. They really asked for your syllabus but nothing about grades? Weird... exact opposite for me. Hope I didn't miss anything.

Yeah, they basically asked for syllabi of all the electrical engineering classes I am currently taking and ones that I have already taken but mentioned nothing along the lines of wanting to see a final grade.
Are you a freshman now or a sophomore? I would understand if you are currently still a freshman as you would only have one semester of college grades.

Oh, I'm a freshman going to a school without an engineering dept (which is why I'm transferring) so that's probably why. Makes sense now.

If You Were A Transfer Student And Have Gotten In Please Reply......if You Applied Into The Biology Or Any Libral Arts ...can You Tell What Your Gpa Was ...and Over 30+credits. Do You Have To Sumbit Your Sat/act Scores????????

College: LSA
GPA: Decent :P (3.5-4.0)
Credits: ~120 (quarter)
SAT: Yes (1350).

to the poster above:

did have to sumit your SAT scores?

and congrats!!!!!!!

As I've said, "yes." You have to pay Collgeboard $9-$54 (depending on when you took it, and how you want it sent) to have them send your scores to UMich. They don't consider your application complete unless you do so - in fact, they don't even start reading it.
