Hi,

Im a sophomore @ the University of Maryland College Park. This is my first semester here after transferring from Rutgers Univ- NB. I have some really intense reasons for my first transfer (ie room mate suicide) and Im really unhappy here. Im just trying to gauge my chances or if I have ANY reasonable shot @ getting into the University of Michigan AA

Decent EC's

Top 10% high school. OK SAT. Good EC's

What kind of chance do I have @ College of Lit and Sci @ UM Ann Arbor???

could you perhaps elaborate on your hs transcript? hs gpa, sat, sat II scores are still factors for you at this point...what ec's have you partaken in in the past/what are you doing now?

trying to give you the best answer possible

3.6 HS GPA. top 10 % rank. 1200 CR Math SAT scores.. decents ECs

did you take sat II's? what was your 2400? i don't know what decent ec's are

you are still being furtive, but whatever

seems you will have some sort of shot...i can only give a vague response because youve given us vague information, still hope it helps

From what I have gathered, transferring into UM out of state is significantly harder than in state..I think they recommend in state applicants to have at least a 3.5-3.7 to be competitive. Because they take less out of state students, I assume that your stats/EC's are going to have to be a little more distinct to stand out in the process. You have a fairly good chance assuming you have strong recs/essays/reasons to go.
