Michigan University Ross preferred admission chance me?

Reposted from the Michigan forum:

Visited Michigan recently and I’ve got to say I instantly fell in love with the campus, specifically Ross (it’s absolutely beautiful). Since the school is pretty pricey, the only way I’d consider it worth attending is if I get accepted into preferred admission.

Here’s what my coursework looks like:

Freshman year:
AP Chem
Chamber Orchestra
Modern World History
Honors Eng I
Honors Alg I
Latin II

Sophomore:
AP History
AP Bio

Honors Latin III
Honors Precalc
Honors Eng II

Junior:
AP Calc BC
AP gov
AP Comp Sci
AP Lang
Chamber Orchestra (honors)
Honors Latin IV
Peer Collab (basically teacher’s assistant)

Senior, subject to change:
Peer Collab
AP Lit
AP Physics C with lab
AP Stats
Chamber Orchestra (honors)

Small group leader at church youth group (10-12)
Nursery helper at church (9-11)

Going to apply for a tutor job at Kumon this summer

National Honors Society

SAT (retaking):
21700
CR 710 M 710 W 750
PSAT 222
Taking ACT in April, predicted score is ~33. Target score is 35

Teacher recs will probably be from APUSH/Lang/Bio.
Volunteer hours will amount to ~350-400 hrs
Also worth mentioning that I’m Chinese American.

atm my greatest concern is my schedule for senior year; seeing that it is a little on the lax side and that I could be taking more AP classes (I’m thinking AP world or euro? Or IB Psych though at our school it’s a waste of time) would that be considered a deterrent for me?
Standardized tests are not too concerning since I still have time to retake them, though I definitely should start to focus on them considering the stats of Ross pre admit students.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Bumppp

1). Chill out, your senior courseload is fine.

2). A small fraction of Ross students get in preadmit. Even if you only get into the college you applied to in tandum with Ross (ie Engineering or LS&A) you should still consider coming to UMich and applying to Ross at the end of your freshman year (like most Ross students).

3). The “Why Michigan?” essay is where you really need to make your case for Ross preadmit.

Any advice on standing out from the applicants for preadmit (besides the essay)? The main reason why I was concerned with my senior classes was because of the very fact that only a small number of students get preadmit.

Also not sure if the OOS tuition is worth it, especially when comparing it to OSU which is half the price of Michigan because I’m in state.

Demonstrate interest by contacting your territory admissions officer and try to go to every UMich/Ross sponsored event you can. Now that may be hard since you’re OOS. In addition to OSU, have you considered Miami & Case Western (private ik but they give good aid and have a Ross quality management school)?

Wow. Your SAT score is 10 times higher than most students.

I’ve checked out Miami and Case, but since OSU’s basically my safety school I haven’t focused too much on them and the specific area of business I’m interested in (supply chain management) is already ranked pretty high at OSU.

Will definitely check out the sponsored events though!

And dangit my bad looooool. If only I really was that talented bahaha
