Ok, hypothetical question. If i want to pursue an MBA, which college is the better stepping stone? Cornell or Michigan? Cornell seems like the all-around better school but Michigan is tops for undergrad business and financing. Basically what I'm asking is: is it better to go to the ivy league school, or the slightly less prestigious school thats really great in business?

cornell without a doubt. Dude, i can assure you that the majority of kids at cornell and when i say majority, more like 90 percent or higher could EASILY get into Michigan out of state.

Cornell. I don't really like UMich myself, maybe because the only major city by is Detroit and thats one big pile of *****.

personally, i feel like michigan has become like a joke to get into out of state. Have u seen Michigan tuition for out of staters. IT IS RIDICULOUS. Why should i go to michigan when I can go to a private school?????

so business schools and employers would look more favorably at Cornell than Michigan?

um....Michigan's undergrad business school is really top notch. However, Cornell will get the edge in terms of grad placement and employers. I mean, you won;t lose w. michigan, but if your out of state and you would be paying the same with cornell and michigan, Cornell clearly is the better choice.

I would imagine out-of-state UC's cost more.

naaa...Michigan is the most expensive public school out of state. It is INSANE. 27,000 for tuition. plz, that is insane.

I personally believe that undergrad business degrees are overrated. There's a public misconception that they're equivalent to an MBA, which is not true at all. HYPS don't offer undergrad business programs, and yet they still manage to feed a ton of people to top MBA programs. If money isn't an issue, go to Cornell. It'll be easier to network at an Ivy, which is key to getting ahead in the business world. Still, don't think that Michigan is bad; it still recruits heavily to top firms. If you're in-state, perhaps Michigan might be the better deal.

Michigan. The Ross program is up there while AEM still has a long way to go.

ROSS>AEM

However

AEM>Umich non-Ross
