Michigan vs. Indiana vs. Oberlin for violin performance

Congratulations! He is lucky to have had three such excellent choices, and I don't think he could have gone wrong at any of these places.

Congratulations Stringfollies & son! My S was torn between Oberlin and IU but felt there would be more opportunities at IU. Maybe we'll run into each other at orientation. As far as worries -- AP exams start next week. The tension around the house is much worse than it was with auditions.

Congratulations, stringfollies! This deciding time is difficult for students and parents alike! My son will be a senior at IU next year (trumpet major), and he is very impressed with the music school there. He gets tired of the large campus and partying students sometimes, but he does love the music school and his teacher. And he has grown SO much musically. I hope your son is also very happy at IU!

Hey Stringfollies! Congrats on a great decision. Now the new roller coaster ride can begin!

Thanks everyone - my son has ordered his IU hat!! He's happy.

Congrats! Hope his years at IU are as wonderful as mine were! Go Hoosiers! :D

Congrats and go Hoosiers (my years at IU were pretty wonderful too). My DD will be going to Jacobs for ballet so maybe they'll run into each other.

I must say I cannot wait to go back with my d who is applying to IU Jacobs next year! Hopefully, if she is asked to audition, there may be a home b ball game!!! :D (Once a Hoosier....always a Hoosier! Even while living in Nittany Lion territory.)
Best to all of you. IU is truly one of the most beautiful campuses I have seen....wait until the fall....and the first fresh fallen snow.
