Michigan vs Northwestern vs Berkeley Industrial Engineering

Can you compare these three programs? They're both top programs, but which one is better for graduate school? Which one places better in industry? Berkeley's IEOR is a really small program, is it very well known? Berkeley overall is a good school but I don't know if its IEOR is any good since it's so small and there's a small alumni base.

Is Northwestern the best out of the three for industrial engineering? What about for mechanical engineering?

Making the assumption a universities grad program reflects the strength of its undergrad program:

According to US News it’s Michigan > Berkeley = Northwestern

Just go to Georgia Tech!

All three are excellent in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. I would give Berkeley a slight edge over Michigan and Michigan a slight edge over Northwestern, but all of them place equally well in industry. I would choose between those three based on (1) cost of attendance and (2) personal preference/fit.

According to the latest undergraduate rankings:

INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING:
Michigan #2
Berkeley #3
Northwestern #7

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:
Berkeley #2
Michigan #4
Northwestern #14

what about going to both michigan and berkeley as in starting at berkeley then transferring to michigan. does that look good? will berkeley forever be on my education, or is it basically erased by going to michigan?

Both schools will probably show on your Michigan transcript if you transfer. Your Michigan and Berkeley GPA’s would be separate when calculating your Michigan cumulative GPA. However, employers, law/med/MBA/grad schools will combine the two. Make sure to list both GPAs separately on your resume.

is it worth it to go to northwestern or berkeley (out of state) for grad school? what about for undergrad?

is the education at northwestern superior to the industrial engineering at michigan, though I do know that Michigan IOE is world reknown, right?

what about for business school? b school? is one better than the other or no?
