Is the weather really that bad? I'm from Chicago, so I'm no stranger to snow & frigid weather... I imagine the weather in Ann Arbor is similar?

It’s pretty much the same. I think there’s less snow in Ann Arbor than Chicago (though I could be wrong…) Probably Chicago is also windier, which makes things way worse in the winter.

The winter is very similiar in Ann Arbor as it is in Chicago. I will say thought that I think it is cloudier on average in Michigan than it is in Illinois in the winter. Lake effect clouds that blow eastward.

Not bad, might be colder. It got pretty icy too.

I think it’s actually colder in Chicago, when you factor in the wind. So no, it’s not bad compared to Chicago.

Pretty similar. Not really that cold in either area. NYC has colder winters than both, IMO.

I think you’ll be fine. I grew up near A2 and the weather here doesn’t bother me at all, and I am always miserable in Chicago when I go in October. lol

Ann Arbor is actually slightly cooler and about as snowy as Chicago:

Yeah, so weather definitely won’t be a deciding factor. That’s a good thing to know :)
